Word of the semester: Scarcity.

High school Seniors feel as though there is a very limited amount of time. Those who suffer from "senioritis" know well enough that time is not a luxury; it is the same for all of us. Time is not to be taken lightly, for they won’t have “another year” to complete any unfinished classes, unless they want to come back as a Super Senior next year, I knew from the gecko that in order to swiftly complete first semester I would need to stay on top of my classes and stay as organized as possible, which was done- surprisingly, with a couple huffs and puffs here and there. Juggling Economics and U.S. Government was fairly as easy task; greatest decision I ever made! I would’ve been struggling with both classes if it weren’t for the prompt actions of Mr. Pierotti. He graded tests and assigned in-class assignments when I have already completed the last. I was ahead by two modules in English and was my English teacher’s Teacher’s Aide; fortunately, this arrangement gave me a lot more time to complete unfinished assignments. This is what after school looked like for me: ride the bus, walk home, throw backpack in the closet, SLEEP. This is what Senior year suppose to feel like. I am just glad I have enough drive and motivation to complete what I need to complete without having to be told over and over. I had plenty of time to focus on my weaker points, and strengthen stronger points during school. I am glad I stressed on finishing my class assignments during class, and if I needed to, after school on the same day. I pushed for a relaxed second semester, and a relaxed semester is what I got!
Jostens presented in the MPR to all seniors. When I walked in the MPR with my two friends, chills ran up my spine. On stage was a big white screen and what looked like Senior hoodies and t-shirts scattered on a white foldable table. The big white screen projected the word “Jostens” with proud looking high school graduates in the background. The reality that I will be graduated in 5 months became even more real. This is it. This is the first step to the graduation ceremony preparation. I placed my graduation products and class ring order. I cannot wait to sport my class ring and class apparel as a proud Lindsay High School student, soon to be Alumni!
I decided to settle for a junior college and transfer to a university to attain my BA in Business Administration. Junior college to me is an opportunity to get your education and make the transfer from teenage to adulthood. I will be getting a job and moving in with my best friend in Tulare where I will attend College of the Sequoias. The first thing I am going to invest in is a car so I can be mobile without having to situate a ride. The worst possible situation that I am working diligently on avoiding is having to work around someone else’s schedule just to commute. I completed my FASFA, and applied to a couple of scholarships. I have constructed myself to be future oriented. Every decision I make is closely evaluated to make sure that it will not alter my goals in the long run. I have so much left to learn but with the right guidance and lessons learned I shall develop into a well rounded lady.
Thanksgiving break flew by in a quickness, now winter break flew in the speed of light. One day I’m opening gifts, and the next, my first semester report card. It’s amazing to see what time can do, and what we students at Lindsay High School do with the scarce time
